Moscow expressed disappointment over the US' decision to supply sniper rifles to Kiev, warning that this action may lead to further bloodshed in Ukraine's restive southeastern region.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that "by arming the Kiev authorities, the United States is actually pushing for the resumption of large-scale bloodshed in Donbas," adding that the situation in the region is "already critical due to constant shelling" conducted by Ukrainian forces.
