MOSCOW (Sputnik) – A 6.6-magnitude earthquake on Monday hit Pacific Ocean in the vicinity of the US part of the Aleutian Islands, USGS said.
The tremor was registered at 10:34 a.m. local time (00:34 GMT). The epicenter was located at the depth of more than 110 kilometers (over 68 miles) to the east from the Buldir Island.
No tsunami threat from the earthquake has been declared. No information on victims or destruction has emerged so far.
