During the exercise, which was held in three stages, the paratroopers practiced landing and combat actions of settling an imitated crisis situation. The exercise also included all the peacetime and wartime tasks of the airborne troops.

Russian paratroopers successfully accomplished a regimental tactical exercise led by Russia's Airborne Force Commander Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov, in the Pskov region. About 2,500 servicemen and more than 40 aircraft and helicopters of the Russian Aerospace Forces were engaged in the drills.
