WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – Carson,ade a statement in a Facebook post.
“I feel that I can make a significant contribution particularly to making our inner cities great for everyone," he wrote. "An announcement is forthcoming about my role in helping to make America great again."
On Tuesday, Trump said he was considering Carson as his nominee for secretary of housing and urban development. Carson told Fox News Channel in an interview later in the day that he has been offered several cabinet positions in the administration.
He added in his Facebook post that the Trump White House faces “hard work” ahead to restore core values of the United States and overcome divisiveness in the nation’s politics and among Americans.
Carson ran against Trump for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination but endorsed the eventual nominee shortly after suspending his own campaign.
